More Than Massage
Meticulous Massage® was founded on the belief that people deserve more than temporary, routine care.
After working in Chicago massage environments ranging from high-volume chains to luxury settings, founder Nedra R. Crosby repeatedly noticed the same problem: the routine could become more important than the person receiving it.
The same sequence.
The same pressure.
The same approach—regardless of the body on the table.
But bodies do not follow routines.
They adapt.
They compensate.
They communicate.
Meticulous Massage® was created to provide something different.
Built Through Intention
In 2013, Nedra wrote down three goals:
Become a homeowner
Become a massage therapist
Own her own practice
Within three years, all three had become reality.
Founded in Chicago in 2016, Meticulous Massage® began in a modest 90-square-foot room with a clear purpose: to physically help people feel better in their bodies through thoughtful, individualized care.
What began as a small private practice has grown into a recognized downtown Chicago brand known for precision, professionalism, and an uncommon level of attention.
The Body Is Not a Routine
Nedra’s clinical massage education taught her to consider how the body’s systems, movement patterns, tissue responses, daily demands, and individual history may influence the way tension is experienced.
That understanding continues to guide every session.
Instead of assuming the painful area is the only area involved, Nedra pays attention to how the body presents and responds throughout the work.
She listens.
She observes.
She adjusts.
Each decision has a purpose, and each session develops according to the person receiving it.
Precision Without Aggression
Meticulous Massage® does not define effective bodywork by how much pain a client can tolerate.
Pressure may be firm, focused, or intense when appropriate, but unnecessary pain is never used as proof that the work is effective.
When the body begins to brace, guard, or resist, the approach changes.
This philosophy became one of the foundational beliefs of the brand:

Nedra R. Crosby, LMT
Founder and Clinical Massage Therapist
Nedra is a Chicago-based licensed massage therapist with clinical massage training and more than a decade of professional experience.
She founded Meticulous Massage® to give people the personalized, responsive care she believed was too often missing from conventional massage experiences.
Her work is guided by observation, professional judgment, tissue response, client communication, comfort, and respect for each person’s autonomy.
She does not handle bodies casually.
